Hi! I'm Madison, a line dancing instructor based in Saskatoon. Dance is one of my favourite things in the world, and I am so grateful that I get to share my love of dance through these classes.
My goal with these classes is to create a fun, upbeat space where everyone feels comfortable and can share the love of dance (with no pressure, and no stress)
There's nothing more gratifying to me than seeing first-time dancers coming into class. It seems everyone walks in nervous, and everyone walks out laughing, smiling, and with a bit more confidence than when they came in!
And, let me add, you DO NOT need any previous dance experience... Just come to class with a positive attitude, and we'll figure the rest out together 😊
See you in class!
Frequently Asked Questions:
Do I need any dance experience?
Not at all! My classes are beginner-friendly, I'll walk you through everything step by step! If you need some extra help, my mother-in-law (the lovely Linda), is also there for one-on-one support
Can I come alone?
Absolutely! Lots of people come on their own! It's a great way to meet new people in Saskatoon's line dance community. Then, after classes on Friday, most dancers head to the Longbranch (one of Saskatoon's Country Bars, located at the Ramada) to continue dancing the night away!
What should I wear?
Wear something comfortable you can move in! Boots are fun (but not required), any clean indoor shoes work great!
For reference, I usually wear jeans and a crop top with my clean cowboy boots, it's what I find myself most comfortable in, however, shorts, sneakers, sweaters, etc. are all okay too (maybe have a layer under the sweater, because the studio gets a bit warm sometimes)
How much does it cost?
Drop-in classes start at $15 per class, but multi-class punch passes are also available. More details can be found on our sign up sheet HERE.
Do I need to register in advance?
Yes! Please register ahead of time so I can plan for class sizes. I don't want anyone's toes getting stepped on in class, so I limit our class sizes accordingly.
What if I've never danced before and feel nervous?
That's totally normal! And you're not alone. Most people feel that way at first. Honestly, I've heard from many students that this feeling only lasts for the first 5 minutes of class, and then you start having fun. Once you get over this nervous feeling, you'll have a lot of fun in class and feel totally relaxed in our atmosphere (or at least that's our goal!)
What happens if I miss a class?
I totally understand life is busy. If you're unable to make it to a class, please message me at least 2 hours before our class to arrange something. Most instances, I'll be able to fit you into another class at a later date, as long as we still have room in class.
Do you offer private classes?
Sure do, sweet-thang! I've lead private events, bachelorette parties, birthdays, anniversary parties, and staff events.
Please send me an email (madisonslinedancing@gmail.com) to arrange this!
