Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need any dance experience?
Not at all, our Friday-night classes are beginner-friendly! We'll walk you through everything step by step! If you need some extra help, my mother-in-law (the lovely Linda), is also there for one-on-one support.
Can I come alone?
Absolutely! Lots of people come on their own! It's a great way to meet new people in Saskatoon's line dance community. Then, after classes on Friday, most dancers head to the Longbranch (one of Saskatoon's Country Bars, located at the Ramada) to continue dancing the night away!
What should I wear?
Wear something comfortable you can move in! Leather-soled cowboy boots are ideal for turning (but not required), any clean NON-MARKING indoor shoes work well to start with!
For reference, I usually wear jeans and a crop top with my clean cowboy boots (it's what I find myself most comfortable in), however, shorts, sneakers, sweaters, etc. are all okay too (maybe have a layer under the sweater, because the studio gets a bit warm sometimes)
How much does it cost?
Drop-in classes start at $20 per class, and virtual punch passes are also available to get a better bang for your buck!
Do I need to register in advance?
Yes! Please register ahead of time so I can plan for class sizes. I don't want anyone's toes getting stepped on in class, so I limit our class sizes accordingly.
When Should I Arrive?
Please aim to arrive about 5-10 minutes before class. Please note that late entries are permitted, but the first portion of class is essential to understanding the choreography when the music is faster (and if you're late it might be challenging to fully pick up all the steps)
What if I've never danced before and feel nervous?
That's totally normal! And you're not alone. Most people feel that way at first. Honestly, I've heard from many students that this feeling only lasts for the first 5 minutes of class, and then you start having fun. Once you get over this nervous feeling, you'll have a lot of fun in class and feel totally relaxed in our atmosphere (or at least that's our goal!)
What happens if I miss a class?
I totally understand life is busy. If you're unable to make it to a class, please message me at least 6 hours before our class to arrange something. Most instances, I'll be able to fit you into another class at a later date, as long as we still have room in class.
Do you offer private classes and events?
Sure do! I've lead private events such as bachelorette parties, birthdays, anniversary parties, corporate events, and staff parties. Click the pink button below for my custom inquiries form!
